Gudetama x Holika Holika Makeup Collection

Gudetama x Holika Holika makeup

I really love Gudetama and Korean makeup. Apparently, I’m not unique in liking both of these things. Korean makeup brand Holika Holika has decided that there’s enough interest to create not one but two whole Gudetama makeup collections! What does Sanrio’s lazy egg character have to do with makeup? Nothing at all, of course, but cute sells and you’ll see why when you take a look at these adorable products.

The first collection from Holika Holika is called “Lazy & Easy” and the second is “Lazy & Joy”. Luckily you don’t have to go all the way to Korea to get your hands on them. I’ve picked a selection of the cutest items from both sets below with links to where you can find them online.

Gudetama x Holika Holika All In One Master

Gudetama x Holika Holika All In One Master

The Gudetama x Holika Holika All In One Master is definitely a good product for lazy people. Why? Well it acts as a cleanser, toner and essence in a single product. It’s very moisturizing and the gel formulation means it’s smooth and easy to apply. This type of thing is perfect for me, as at present I am definitely too lazy for three skincare steps! All I do is moisturize so this would be an improvement for me.

Gudetama x Holika Holika All Kill Cleanser Oil To Foam

Gudetama x Holika Holika All Kill Cleanser Oil to Foam

As the name implies, this is a cleanser. The “all kill” aspect sounds a bit harsh but I presume something got lost in translation there. Reviews for this cleanser are very good – it removes makeup in one pass, no need for a second wash. Just apply to dry skin and rub it in with wet fingertips to create bubbly foam.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Chap Chap Cushion Puff

Gudetama x Holika Holika Chap Chap Cushion PuffThis is just a makeup applicator puff. But a super cute one, eh? I love that even if you don’t want to switch to Holika Holika for your BB cream or powder, there are still lots of cute cosmetic accessories that will work with any brand. Personally, I’m an Etude House girl so I didn’t buy any makeup from this range but I could totally use this puff with my matte powder. It’s something I use every morning so incorporating something super adorable like this is guaranteed to make me smile daily!

Gudetama x Holika Holika Character Sheet Mask

Gudetama x Holika Holika Character Sheet Mask

I picked this sheet mask up in Seoul and got a couple for friends too. Again, the packaging is the main selling point for this one but it definitely does the job when it comes to moisturizing and softening the skin too. You can’t really go wrong with sheet masks from most Korean makeup brands.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Cupcake Eye Shadow Palette

Gudetama x Holika Holika Cupcake Eye Shadow Palette

There are two eye shadow pallets in this collection – both on the neutral/brown side of things (makes sense since they’re inspired by cake!). “Red velvet” has more warm, reddish hues whereas “Tiramisu” leans towards creamy brown shades. Unfortunately I couldn’t try these as I am allergic to 99% of eye shadows but the descriptions are pretty mouthwatering! I’d love to hear how you got on with them if you’ve tried them. Especially if you have sensitive skin/eyes.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Dessert Hand Cream

Gudetama x Holika Holika Dessert Hand CreamIn keeping with the dessert theme, next up we have a set of sweet dessert hand creams. There are three different varieties with corresponding fragrances – “Custard” which has a sweet cream scent and moisturizing properties, “Sherbet” with a sherbet scent and light consistency and finally “Cream cheese” with a sweet fragrance and deep moisturizing effect.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Egg Bun Puff

Gudetama x Holika Holika Egg Bun PuffThe Gudetama x Holika Holika egg bun puff is basically a beauty blender but much cuter. You can see the design on the package is modeled after a popular Korean street food called egg bread. It’s super yummy and I recommend trying it if you visit Korea. Conveniently, you can always find them on the main shopping street in Myeongdong – where Holika Holika has a lot of stores too.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Face 2 Change Photo Ready Cushion BB

Gudetama x Holika Holika face 2 change photo ready cushion BB

This is a “cushion” BB cream. If you’re not familiar with cushions – it’s a compact and puff that’s used to apply BB cream rather than powder. Personally, I’m not a fan of these as I find the coverage too heavy and they don’t last too long. However, if you do like a thicker coverage (similar to foundation), this would be a great choice.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Jelly Dough Blusher

Gudetama x Holika Holika Jelly Dough Blusher

I’m not sure where the egg connection is with these fruity inspired blushers but they definitely make me smile. There are two choices – “Grapefruit” and “Plum Pink”. They’re a cream form with a lovely fruity fragrance.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Melting Lip Button

Gudetama x Holika Holika Melting Lip ButtonAgain, for those who want something cute from the Gudetama collection but don’t want to commit to changing over to Holika Holika for your main makeup essentials like BB cream or blusher, this is a good choice. It’s a soft, brightly pigmented lip balm in a convenient stick form. Unfortunately the color choice is quite limited – the two options are “Berry Marmalade” or “Orange Marmalade”. Both were far too bright for my casual look but if you’re a bit more creative with makeup than me, these would definitely be fun to try.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Party Up Nail Kit

Gudetama x Holika Holika Party Up Nail KitFrom the “Lazy & Joy” collection, this nail kit shows us a rare side of Gudetama – he’s ready to party! A lazy party sounds like my kind of thing, I’m usually the one napping in the corner once its past 8pm. Three pretty colors are included in this kit – “Pure Beige”, “Party Red” and “Bling Bling Glitter”.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead 3 Step Kit

Gudetama x Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead 3 Step Kit

Despite the off putting name, the “pig nose” blackhead clearing kit is a very popular product from Holika Holika. The Gudetama version is no different, however it’s worth getting just for the adorable illustration of the lazy egg picking out blackheads! Seems like an uncharacteristic amount of effort for him but you can see him relaxing before and after. As the name implies, there are three steps in this kit: First, a cream to open the pores, next a strip to remove blackheads and finally another cream to close and minimize pores.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Skin Peeling Gel

Gudetama x Holika Holika Skin Peeling Gel

This product was one of the first from the Gudetama x Holika Holika range that caught my eye. It seems to have done the rounds on social media because of its super cute packaging. Holika Holika has used this egg design in other products so it makes perfect sense that they would stick a little Gudetama face on it and include it in the Lazy & Easy collection. What is it? A deep cleansing face mask. Users report great results – it leaves the skin soft and clear.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Stiquick Nail Kit

Gudetama x Holika Holika Stiquik nail Kit

These nail stickers really capture the lazy ethos of Gudetama. For those who don’t want to spend time painting tiny works of art on their talons, you simply stick these on and you’re ready to go! The clear polish lid is adorable too, definitely a bottle to keep and refill again and again.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Pore Cover Powder

Gudetama x Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Pore Cover Powder

I don’t know why people hate their pores so much – they’re awesome little things that help our skin stay healthy. That said, mine are pretty small so maybe it would be different if they were visible. Luckily, if you’re plagued by large pores, there are plenty of products that can help. Although it’s not possible to actually shrink them (size is determined by your genetics), this “pore cover powder” has a blurring effect, giving a smooth finish.

Gudetama x Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Sebum Clear Pact

Gudetama x Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Sebum Clear PactThe name sounds a bit gross, huh? We all know sebum as that oily gunk that blocks up our pores and causes acne. Well, the “sweet cotton sebum clear pact” is a mineral powder designed to control and minimize sebum on the skin. Simply use the puff to apply to the T-zone or any other affected area and it will mop up excess oil. It also specifies that it’s okay for sensitive skin – good news for people like me.
