My first encounter with Ladurée was in their small macaron stand in Brown Thomas. I went through a macaron obsession for a few years, sampling as many brands and flavours as I could and even making (read: destroying) several batches at home. I gave up on that quest after a few price increases there, as it was painful to pay nearly €2 for something that was gone in three bites.
I found out about this place by seeing it in my friend’s Facebook photos after her trip to Paris. I’d been to Paris before and missed it (this happens frequently, cute things are often hard to find) so it was top of my list when I returned this month.
